Flying Shear Systems
A flying shear system that cuts material to the required length without stopping it on continuously running roll forming and profile lines.

Profiles and Sheet Parts Cut Without Stopping the Line
A flying cut-off system that travels with the line and cuts the profile square and burr-free to length without deforming it.
Applications & Industries
- Cutting automation for cable tray and profile roll forming lines
- Steel service centres and cut-to-length lines
- Solar structure profiles and C/Z purlin cutting units
- Integration with heavy-industry tube and profile bending machines
Engineering & Manufacturing Technology Analysis
Key features of the solution developed by the YILSA R&D team
01.How a Flying Shear Works
On continuous roll forming lines, stopping the material to cut it slows the line down. In a flying shear the cutting carriage is matched to the profile speed by a servo drive; as soon as the speeds match, the blade comes down and cuts the part square.
After the cut, the carriage returns to its start position for the next cut.
02.Profile-Specific Blades
Blade sets are designed for the profile geometry and do not bend or crush the profile walls. The blades are made of 1.2379 (D2) tool steel.
03.Easy Operation with PLC
Cut length and quantity are entered on the PLC and touch screen; recipes can be saved for different orders.
