Cuts V-notches with Rotary Punch drums, without stopping the material, into the cardboard edge protectors that protect the edges of coils and reels from impact and crushing.
Continuous V-Notching of Cardboard Edge Protectors
Cardboard edge protectors protect the round edges of rolls, coils and reels from impact, crushing and unravelling during transport. For the protector to wrap around the roll, V-notches must be cut into its edge at regular intervals.
Edge Protector That Never Stops
The machine works with YILSA's patented Rotary Punch technique: two drums carrying male and female dies rotate at the same speed as the edge protector and cut the notch while the material flows. Because the protector is never stopped, speed reaches 24 m/min.
While notching, the drums also drive the edge protector forward, so no separate feeder is needed. Speed is set on the speed control unit.
Long-Lasting Cutting Dies
The cutting dies are made of 1.2379 (D2) tool steel at 58–60 HRC. With no press impact, the dies wear little and can be resharpened and reused when needed.
Compact and Quiet
Driven by a 2.2 kW AC motor, the machine measures 80 × 70 × 140 cm and weighs about 700 kg. With no impact, it runs quietly and without vibration.
